KPO for printer

With KPO, the Koh Young Process Optimizer for the printer, Koh Young presents “Closed Loop 2.0”,
an AI-supported control loop that proactively optimizes the process instead of reactively readjusting it.

  • What is the difference between Closed Loop and Koh Young KPO?

Closed-loop refers to a simple automatic feedback loop in which error measurements are used to immediately correct process parameters.

The Koh Young Process Optimizer (KPO) goes beyond closed-loop by working with AI-supported algorithms. Instead of just reacting to errors, KPO analyzes patterns and trends and proactively adjusts processes.

  • Which parameters does Closed Loop control?

Stencil cleaning: If too much paste accumulates on the stencil, automatic cleaning is triggered.

Stencil alignment: If a systematic misalignment is detected, the printer adjusts its position.

  • Which parameters does KPO regulate?

In addition to stencil cleaning and stencil alignment, KPO controls other parameters such as squeegee pressure, speed and release speed

KPO also determines the optimum printing parameters for setting up new products.

These advantages has KPO for your process

The AI-based tool analyzes real-time data from the printing process and solder paste inspection (SPI) to determine and automatically apply optimal printing parameters.

  • Real-time process optimization: Continuous analysis and adjustment of production parameters stabilizes the process and increases product quality.
  • Reduction of rejects and rework: Early error detection and correction minimize production losses and reduce costs.
  • Automation and increased efficiency: The use of AI reduces the need for manual intervention and enables autonomous process control.
  • Relieving the burden on skilled workers: Experience and tests are required to set up the printing process for a new product. KPO takes inexperienced users by the hand and presents them with the optimum print parameters after just 17 test prints.

At a glance: KPO vs. Closed Loop

Characteristic Closed-Loop KPO (Koh Young Process Optimizer)
Technology Rule-based error correction AI-supported process optimization
Goal Adjust positions regularly and initiate a cleaning trigger Avoid errors and improve processes in the long term
Mode of operation Positioning: Proactive stencil cleaning: Reactive Proactive optimization of numerous parameters
Efficiency Stabilizes the process Optimizes the entire workflow
