PCB Cleaning

Eliminate contamination in high-end SMD processes: inline printed circuit board cleaning

Is the FR4 substrate really clean when it comes from the PCB manufacturer? Or did packaging material, dust or a hair of an employee get onto it during transport? This can lead to defects in the printing process!

That is why you should clean your boards before the printing process. This will reduce bridging, insufficient printing and tombstoning effects, and you will not risk clogging stencil openings and thus creating rejects.

You think,

your PCB is clean?

Then take the test! We will come to you with a Teknek hand cleaning device and test the cleanliness of your printed circuit board!

How particles get onto the circuit board

Material residues from the manufacturing process (milling dust, particles from laser marking, etc.)

Deposits due to human intervention in the process (hair, fibers or lint)

Wear debris from machine wear parts

Dust from the environment

The advantages of PCB Cleaning

PCB cleaning removes unwanted particles and foreign matter prior to the printing process, thus improving first-pass yield and increasing throughput of the SMT line. Printing defects caused by contamination, such as insufficient printing and tombstones, are prevented, reducing scrap and rework time. In addition, the reliability of the solder connection is improved and the failure of assemblies in the field is reduced. The frequency of stencil cleaning is also reduced because the stencil openings do not become clogged with foreign material.
